
Director of Media & Marketing
The Director of Media & Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the marketing, branding, communications, and media strategy for the Old Skool Basketball Circuit (OSBC). This position leads the promotion of tournaments, manages the organization's digital presence, and oversees media initiatives that increase the visibility of OSBC, participating teams, student-athletes, sponsors, and community partners. The Director works to ensure that every OSBC event is professionally presented through compelling content, consistent branding, accurate information, and effective communication across digital and traditional media platforms.
Brand Management
Maintain a unified and professional OSBC identity across every public-facing platform.

• Maintain and strengthen the OSBC brand identity, voice, visual style, and public image.
• Ensure consistent use of logos, colors, messaging, typography, and tournament branding across PlayOldSkool.com, social media, flyers, event signage, livestreams, printed materials, and sponsor assets.
• Develop practical brand standards and content guidelines that can be followed by designers, photographers, videographers, volunteers, and outside vendors.
• Review promotional materials before publication to ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency.
Website Management
Oversee the digital home of OSBC and keep it current, useful, and conversion-focused.

• Oversee PlayOldSkool.com and coordinate routine content updates with the Wix developer or website administrator.
• Keep tournament dates, registration links, venue information, schedules, rules, leadership opportunities, sponsor information, and event announcements current and accurate.
• Coordinate new website features such as event hubs, player spotlights, championship recaps, media galleries, rankings, and livestream pages.
• Improve user experience, mobile usability, search visibility, and conversion from website visitor to registered team or partner inquiry.

Digital Marketing
Plan and manage campaigns that increase awareness and tournament participation.

Develop and manage marketing campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, email, search engines, and other relevant platforms.

Create campaign calendars for registration launches, deadlines, schedule releases, championship events, sponsor promotions, and post-event recaps.

Coordinate paid digital advertising when approved and monitor campaign performance.

Use email marketing to communicate with coaches, parents, teams, sponsors, and partners.

Media Production
Build a professional visual record of OSBC events and athletes.

Coordinate tournament photography, videography, livestream production, highlight videos, interviews, and event recaps.

 Create or manage production schedules so priority games, championship moments, sponsors, and player features are captured.

 Develop standards for photo and video quality, file naming, storage, permissions, and timely delivery.

 Work with media vendors and volunteers to ensure OSBC receives usable content for website, social media, sponsor reporting, and future promotion.

Content Development
Create useful, timely, and brand-aligned communications.

Create tournament announcements, news articles, blog posts, player spotlights, coach features, sponsor recognition, press releases, newsletters, and social media copy.

Develop content that communicates OSBC's key differentiators: elite competition, affordable access, professional organization, player exposure, and the Road to Nationals.

Prepare post-event stories that highlight champions, standout performances, community impact, and upcoming events.

Maintain a consistent editorial calendar and approval process. sponsor reporting, and future promotion.

Community Engagement & Reputation
Strengthen trust with the basketball community.

Support timely, professional responses to public questions and direct inquiries on social platforms.

Monitor public feedback and identify recurring questions or concerns that should be addressed through website content or communications.

Promote positive relationships with coaches, parents, players, officials, sponsors, venues, and community organizations.

Assist with reputation management during schedule changes, event updates, or other time-sensitive communications.

Strategic Marketing & Growth
Use marketing to support registration, partnerships, and long-term expansion.

Develop strategies that increase tournament registrations, website traffic, social engagement, sponsor visibility, and brand recognition.

Collaborate with the Director of Sponsorship & Community Partnerships on sponsor campaigns and fulfillment.

Collaborate with the Director of College Relations & Player Exposure on athlete features, recruiting content, and college/scout communications.

Recommend new media products, content partnerships, and revenue opportunities as OSBC grows.

• Increase website traffic and improve the percentage of visitors who register, inquire, or subscribe.
• Grow social media reach and engagement with coaches, families, teams, and basketball supporters.
• Expand photo, video, livestream, and recap coverage at OSBC events.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in marketing, communications, media, public relations, or digital content.

Strong writing, editing, project-management, and organizational skills.

Working knowledge of youth basketball, sports marketing, or event promotion.

Photography, videography, livestream, graphic-design, or website-management experience is strongly preferred.

Ability to work during tournament weekends and coordinate multiple contributors under deadlines.
