Director of College Relations & Player Exposure

The Director of College Relations & Player Exposure is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with college basketball programs, prep schools, recruiting services, scouting organizations, evaluation services, and basketball media to increase meaningful exposure opportunities for student-athletes participating in the Old Skool Basketball Circuit. This position serves as a bridge between participating teams and the broader basketball community by coordinating college and scout outreach, promoting athletes through OSBC media, and providing educational resources that help coaches, players, and families better understand the recruiting process.

College Relations

Build and maintain professional relationships across multiple levels of college basketball.

• Develop relationships with NCAA Division I, Division II, and Division III programs, NAIA programs, NJCAA and community colleges, prep schools, and postgraduate programs.

• Create and maintain an organized database of college coaches, recruiting coordinators, basketball operations contacts, and program interests.

• Invite college coaches to appropriate OSBC tournaments, showcases, championship events, and educational sessions.

• Communicate event schedules, featured matchups, division information, player lists, and venue details to college contacts in a timely and compliant manner.

• Coordinate college coach credentials, check-in, seating, hospitality, and event support when attendance is permitted.

Player Exposure

Develop professional, accurate, and responsible opportunities for athletes to be seen and recognized.

• Coordinate player spotlights, all-tournament teams, top-performer recognition, interviews, and feature stories through OSBC channels.

• Collaborate with Media & Marketing to promote standout performances with accurate player information and appropriate permissions.

• Support highlight-video and player-profile initiatives without promising recruiting outcomes.

• Identify games, matchups, and divisions that may be relevant to college coaches, scouts, evaluators, and media partners.

• Help establish consistent criteria for honors, watch lists, and player recognition.

Sports Fans Celebrating

Scout, Recruiting & Evaluation Relations

Build relationships with reputable third-party basketball organizations.

• Invite regional and national recruiting services, independent scouts, evaluators, and basketball media to OSBC events.

• Coordinate media and scout credentials, access, schedules, and conduct expectations.

• Maintain communication with analysts and publications that may cover OSBC athletes and events.

• Evaluate potential partners for professionalism, credibility, audience, and alignment with OSBC values.

• Expand recruiting and media coverage as the circuit grows.

Coach, Player & Parent Education

Provide practical information that helps families navigate recruiting responsibly.

• Share general recruiting timelines, communication best practices, player-profile guidance, and highlight-video recommendations.

• Provide educational information about NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, prep school, and postgraduate pathways.

• Coordinate seminars, virtual sessions, Q&A; events, and resource pages for coaches and families.

• Help participants understand the difference between exposure opportunities, recruiting interest, offers, admissions, financial aid, and athletic scholarships.

• Refer families to official governing-body or school resources when specific eligibility guidance is required.

Tournament Support

Enhance the event experience for coaches, evaluators, and athletes.

• Prepare accurate player and team information for approved college coaches, scouts, and media contacts.

• Coordinate scout and college coach check-in, credentials, hospitality, and communication.

• Work with Tournament Operations to identify featured games, showcase opportunities, and appropriate schedules. • Support championship presentations, player recognition, and post-event exposure content.

• Collect feedback from visiting coaches, scouts, teams, and families to improve future events.

Media & Public Relations

Promote athletes and OSBC events with professionalism and accuracy

• Coordinate recruiting stories, player features, interviews, event previews, and post-event recaps with Media
& Marketing.
• Develop relationships with local, regional, and national basketball media.
• Provide accurate names, schools, graduation years, positions, and performance information for approved
content.
• Help communicate OSBC's exposure initiatives without exaggerating attendance, interest, offers, or
outcomes.

Help build OSBC into a credible destination for competition and exposure.

• Recommend showcase events, educational programs, college coach initiatives, prospect camps, and media
partnerships that fit OSBC's stage of growth.
• Support the development of future State and National Championship exposure plans.
• Expand relationships with basketball organizations across Texas and beyond.

• Collaborate with Sponsorship & Community Partnerships on education, scholarship, hospitality, and
event-support opportunities.
• Develop repeatable processes for coach outreach, credentialing, player data, and event follow-up.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of youth basketball, high school basketball, college basketball, and recruiting pathways.
• Existing relationships with coaches, scouts, media, or basketball programs are preferred.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, organization, and follow-up skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive player information responsibly and accurately.
• Professional presentation and the ability to represent OSBC with colleges and external organizations.
• Experience in coaching, athletics administration, recruiting, scouting, media, education, or event operations
is beneficial.
